Overview

Seeking a Design Engineer II to support a cable solutions team focused on new product development. This role is responsible for leading mechanical design efforts throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept through production. The position works cross-functionally with quality and operations teams to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, and meet performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for new product development from concept through production release
• Support all phases of the product development lifecycle, including design reviews, verification, validation, and production transfer
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate design trade-offs and manufacturability
• Create and maintain engineering documentation such as CAD models, drawings, specifications, and technical data
• Assist with troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives for existing products
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and timeline requirements
• Follow established engineering standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with CAD and PLM systems
• Experience with electrical connector design
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Organized and methodical approach to work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing
• Experience with environmental testing
• Experience using Creo and/or Windchill

Additional Details

• Target salary range for this level is typically $82K–$90K; up to $100K for more experienced candidates
• Team size: small engineering group (currently growing)
• Interview process: virtual interview followed by onsite
• Travel: minimal (approximately 1–2 trips per year)
