Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Field IT Support Technician to provide technical support across multiple locations throughout Arkansas. This role combines end-user/endpoint support with responsibility for tracking and maintaining the organization's IT equipment and software throughout its lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working directly with users, troubleshooting desktops and laptops, deploying and replacing equipment, maintaining accurate asset records, and traveling independently to remote offices to resolve technical issues.

This is not a purely remote help desk position. The technician will regularly work in the field and serve as the local technical resource for users and equipment at multiple locations.

What You'll Do

  • Provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and other end-user technology.
  • Travel to field offices to troubleshoot hardware, software, imaging, deployment, and basic LAN/connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, image, replace, and maintain Windows-based workstations and other endpoint devices.
  • Track equipment from deployment and assignment through maintenance, replacement, and retirement.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory and update asset records as equipment changes locations or users.
  • Support IT service requests and incidents through an ITSM/ticketing system and document troubleshooting and resolutions.
  • Assist with software installations, upgrades, licensing, and endpoint maintenance.
  • Work with IT staff and vendors on equipment purchases, replacements, renewals, and other technology-related needs.
  • Monitor equipment and software information to help maintain accurate inventory, licensing, and lifecycle records.
  • Prepare basic reports related to equipment inventory, utilization, refresh cycles, and support activity.
  • Follow established IT support, security, asset management, and documentation procedures.
  • Work independently in the field while maintaining communication with the central IT team.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in desktop support, field IT support, endpoint support, IT support, or a similar role.
  • Experience supporting laptops, desktops, workstations, and other end-user devices.
  • Experience with hardware deployment, imaging, installation, troubleshooting, replacement, or refresh activities.
  • Experience maintaining or working with IT equipment inventory, asset tracking, or technology lifecycle management.
  • Experience using an ITSM, service desk, asset management, or ticketing system.
  • Strong Windows troubleshooting and endpoint support experience.
  • Ability to work directly with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly between field locations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to locations throughout Arkansas.

Preferred Experience

  • Freshservice or another ITSM/IT asset management platform.
  • Endpoint management, RMM, or device management tools such as NinjaOne, Intune, SCCM/MECM, or similar platforms.
  • Mobile device management for iOS and/or Android.
  • Active Directory.
  • Hardware/software inventory and lifecycle management.
  • Software licensing or license tracking.
  • Network/device discovery or basic LAN troubleshooting.
  • Google Workspace administration.
  • CompTIA A+, ITIL, CSAM, CHAMP, or similar certification.
  • Experience supporting distributed, remote, government, or multi-location environments.

Travel

This position requires regular travel to field offices throughout Arkansas, averaging approximately 2 days per week.

A valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance are required.
