Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Developer to support a Sacramento-based client in a long-term remote position (work from anywhere within California). This role focuses on leading large-scale system analysis, database development, and enterprise application initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development, electronic data processing, and business systems design, and will have demonstrated leadership experience in complex IT projects.
Responsibilities
(Including but not limited to)
• Lead system study, analysis, and design efforts for large-scale enterprise IT projects.
• Conduct comprehensive data modeling and develop database components using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust database-driven applications and integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business and technical system requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex application and database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, system architecture diagrams, and process documentation.
• Ensure performance optimization, scalability, and security best practices in all developed systems.
• Mentor junior developers and analysts on development standards, methodologies, and coding best practices.
• Participate in full SDLC activities including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Support database performance tuning, data integrity validation, and system enhancements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in electronic data processing, including systems study, design, and programming.
• 6+ years of experience in a technical lead or leadership capacity.
• 7+ years of experience in systems analysis, specification development, and technical documentation.
• 5+ years of hands-on Oracle database development experience.
• 7+ years of programming experience using PL/SQL, Python, and/or Java for data manipulation and system integration.
• Strong expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and database design principles.
• Experience optimizing database performance and implementing secure development practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in distributed project environments.
