Salesforce Technical Architect - Education Cloud Work Location: Remote

Position Overview

PruTech is seeking an experienced Education Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of Salesforce Education Cloud solutions for higher education institutions. This role requires deep expertise in Education Cloud components including Student Success Hub, Advisor Link, and Education Data Architecture (EDA), combined with a strong understanding of the unique challenges facing educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end Education Cloud solutions that address student lifecycle management, enrollment, advising, and success tracking
• Lead architectural decisions for complex implementations involving multiple Salesforce clouds and education-specific requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams implementing Education Cloud solutions
• Collaborate with education stakeholders to understand institutional needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions
• Ensure solutions comply with education industry standards including FERPA, accessibility requirements, and data privacy regulations
• Define integration strategies with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other education platforms

Duties/Responsibilities

• Architect comprehensive Education Cloud solutions leveraging EDA, Student Success Hub, and related components
• Design data models that support student journey tracking, academic program management, and institutional reporting
• Create technical design documents, solution architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps
• Contribute to discovery sessions with educational institutions to understand their unique processes and requirements
• Define integration patterns for connecting Salesforce with campus systems including Banner, Ellucian, Canvas, and Blackboard
• Provide guidance on Education Cloud limitations and recommend custom development when necessary
• Conduct architecture reviews and ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices
• Stay current with Education Cloud releases and new features
• Mentor junior architects and developers on Education Cloud capabilities and best practices

Required Skills/Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 10+ years of Salesforce platform experience with at least 3 years focused on Education Cloud
• Deep expertise in Education Data Architecture (EDA) and its data model
• Hands-on experience implementing Student Success Hub, Advisor Link, and Pathways
• Strong understanding of higher education and K-12 business processes
• Knowledge of education industry standards and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Ability to travel up to 10% for client engagements

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Certified Education Cloud Consultant
• Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud for education recruitment campaigns
• Knowledge of Tableau CRM for education analytics and reporting
• Familiarity with other education technology platforms and vendors
• Experience implementing solutions for specific education use cases (enrollment management, student success, fundraising)
• Understanding of AI and predictive analytics for student retention
• Previous experience working in or consulting for educational institutions
• Knowledge of grant management and research administration processes
• Experience with community portals for student and faculty engagement
