Transportation & Logistics Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Transportation & Logistics Manager in Milwaukee, WI.

Summary:
This role owns international transportation and logistics end to end. They lead a team, manage global 3PLs and carriers, control freight costs, and make sure international shipments move on time, on budget, and in compliance. This is a hands-on people leader in a manufacturing environment.

Day to day ownership:
* Run all international inbound and outbound shipping
* Lead and develop a team of international logistics specialists
* Manage global 3PLs and carriers across multiple countries
* Partner with planning, procurement, warehouses, and customer service

3PL and carrier management:
* Select and manage international 3PLs and carriers
* Own contracts, SLAs, performance metrics, and issue resolution
* Review and audit freight invoices
* Work with asset-based and non-asset-based providers

Operations:
* Coordinate cross-border shipments, warehouse handoffs, inventory movement, and fulfillment
* Ensure clean communication between internal teams and external partners

Cost control:
* Drive freight savings through routing, consolidation, and mode selection
* Use TMS and logistics tools to identify cost opportunities

Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with international shipping and transportation regulations
* Oversee shipping documentation and import/export coordination
* Partner with trade compliance teams

Customer and internal communication:
* Provide shipment status updates
* Resolve delivery issues quickly

Reporting and improvement:
* Track KPIs for cost, service, and 3PL performance
* Lead continuous improvement efforts using process and technology

REQUIREMENTS:
* 10+ years of managing international transportation and logistics
* Experience leading logistics or transportation teams
* Background in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of:
* FTL, LTL, air, and ocean freight
* 3PL and carrier management

* Hands-on experience with TMS systems
* SAP experience is required
* Strong understanding of international logistics compliance
* Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines

Nice to Have:
* Direct experience with international trade compliance
* History of delivering measurable freight cost savings
* Experience managing logistics across multiple regions or countries

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
