Job Description :

The position would be classified as EL2 (2+ to 4 years of experience) for a Systems Analyst (PACS Administrator) role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • System Operations & Maintenance
    • Manage and monitor PACS for 24/7 availability and performance
    • Perform daily system checks, maintenance, and health monitoring
    • Install, configure, and upgrade PACS software, servers, and workstations
    • Maintain image storage, archiving, and retrieval systems
  • Incident Management & Troubleshooting
    • Investigate and resolve image flow issues
    • Troubleshoot network, interface (DICOM/HL7), and application issues
    • Coordinate with IT, vendors, and clinical teams during outages
    • Support after-hours/on-call escalations
  • Imaging Workflow & Integration
    • Ensure seamless image routing from modalities (CT, MR, US) to PACS
    • Optimize workflows to support radiologists and technologists
    • Device mapping, AE titles, port configurations
    • Migration/re-IP efforts and modality onboarding
    • Manage integrations with:
      • RIS (Radiology Information System)
      • EMR/EHR systems
  • Configuration & Device Management
    • Configure modalities (AE Titles, IPs, ports, routing rules)
    • Maintain device inventory and ensure proper PACS connectivity
    • Validate new site/device onboarding before go-live
    • Tracking AE titles and device configuration for troubleshooting and migrations
    • Ensuring connectivity and correct PACS assignment
  • Data Integrity, Compliance & Security
    • Ensure HIPAA compliance and secure handling of patient imaging data
    • Perform quality control checks on image data
    • Maintain backup and disaster recovery processes
    • Risk management
    • Patient safety and regulatory compliance
  • User Support & Training
    • Provide technical support to radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff
    • Train users on PACS workflows and new features
    • Develop user guides and best practices
  • Project & Change Management
    • Coordinate change control processes and testing
    • Work with vendors on implementations and enhancements
    • Lead or support:
      • PACS upgrades
      • Data migrations
      • System consolidations
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
    • Manage vendor escalations and SLAs
    • Act as liaison between:
      • IT teams
      • Radiology leadership
      • Vendors
  • Documentation & Governance
    • Ensure alignment with enterprise ITSM practices
    • Develop and maintain:
      • SOPs and workflows
      • Configuration documentation
      • Incident and change logs
  • Performance Optimization & Strategy (Senior-Level Expectation)
    • Analyze system performance and identify improvements
    • Plan capacity (storage, throughput, growth)
    • Drive workflow efficiency and AI enablement opportunities

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of experience in PACS, Radiology, or Healthcare IT
  • 2+ years of experience in PACS admin, DICOM, HL7, systems troubleshooting, integrations
  • 2+ years of experience with Radiology workflows and medical terminology
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Radiology, or Health Informatics (or equivalent experience)
  • Certifications (preferred): CIIP, PARCA, ARRT
