About the Role
We’re seeking a highly skilled L3/L4 Network Engineer with deep experience deploying and supporting Juniper MX Series routers. This role supports a global WAN/edge infrastructure upgrade, including large?scale MX304 deployments across multiple data centers, AWS Direct Connect alignment, and improved DDoS resilience.
You’ll be hands?on with configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting—working both independently and alongside remote engineering teams during strictly controlled after-hours windows.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning & Documentation
- Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to refine the MX204 ? MX304 migration strategy.
- Design interim routing solutions for coexistence during pilot rollout.
- Build and maintain deployment documentation, including Master Runbooks and Physical Patch Sheets / Logical Port Maps.
- Support two after-hours maintenance windows for pilot cutovers.
- Validate end-to-end functionality: link status, BGP sessions, route tables, and rollback readiness.
- Provide real-time troubleshooting and on?call support during pilot execution.
- Deploy validated “Golden Configurations” across 10+ global sites via remote console access.
- Integrate site-specific IP schemes, VLAN assignments, neighbor information, and routing parameters into configuration templates.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all remote rollouts.
- Deliver a complete operational handoff to internal engineering/operations teams.
- Provide documentation updates and final knowledge transfer following deployment completion.
Required
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Juniper routers (strong preference for MX204/MX304).
- Expertise with BGP, advanced routing protocols, and WAN edge network design.
- Strong console-based configuration experience and comfort deploying large-scale config templates.
- Background working in hybrid network environments; AWS Direct Connect experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to work during after-hours deployment windows.
