Cybersecurity / Cloud Security Engineer :: 100% Remote

Role: Jr. Cybersecurity / Cloud Security Engineer 

Location: 100% Remote (Texas)

Contract: Long term

(FedRAMP Authorization Work)

Key Responsibilities

• * Support cloud security architecture, deployment, and automation across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• * Design and implement security solutions using tools such as Tenable, Trend Micro, AquaSec, Microsoft Defender, and Burp Suite.
• * Assess and validate cloud environments against *FedRAMP* and *NIST* security controls.
• * Assist with cloud security reviews, architecture assessments, and compliance initiatives.
• * Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible) for secure and compliant deployments.
• * Support security authorization and assessment activities.
• * Create technical documentation, security designs, and architecture diagrams.
• * Collaborate with clients and engineering teams to deliver secure cloud solutions.

Required Skills:

• * Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms.
• * Knowledge of cloud security, architecture, and DevOps practices.
• * Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and automation tools.
• * Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• * Ability to work in Agile team environments.

Required Experience

• * 3+ years of cloud engineering, cloud security, or systems engineering experience.
• * 3+ years supporting cloud architecture, implementation, operations, and automation.
• * 3+ years using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• * Experience with cloud security assessments and compliance initiatives.

Required Certifications:

• * AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Professional/Expert Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• * Experience with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, HIPAA, HITRUST, or PCI compliance frameworks.
• * GitHub/GitLab CI/CD automation experience.
• * Knowledge of serverless and microservices architectures.
• * Experience with encryption technologies, PKI, SSL/TLS.
• * Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGs.
• * CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification.
• * Professional services or consulting background.

Top Priorities:

• * Cloud Security, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, FedRAMP/NIST compliance, security tooling implementation, and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
