Job Tittle: Senior Java Engineer (AWS, Angular, Microservices)

Duration: 18 month contract

Location: Remote (onsite preferred in these locations (Smithfield RI, Merrimack NH, Westlake TX , Jersey City,NJ )

Overview

Client is accelerating modernization efforts within the Core & Common platform, supporting the migration from legacy systems (including the FEPSEC authentication platform) to a new cloudnative architecture. This role is a oneyear contract joining a highperforming engineering team responsible for building Javabased microservices, enhancing authentication capabilities, and supporting Fidelity s nextgeneration web experience for fund managers.

Key Responsibilities

Build and enhance cloudnative Java (Spring Boot) microservices deployed on AWS (EKS, Lambda, EC2).
Support migration from legacy .NET application components into scalable Java/Angular cloud services.
Collaborate on the implementation of MFA, OAuth flows, and modern authentication patterns.
Work closely with UI engineers to integrate Angular frontend applications.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, CI/CD automation, code reviews, and TDD practices.
Contribute to eventdriven architecture using MSK (Kafka), SQS, or SNS.

Required Skills

Java 17+, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs
Angular (preferred), JavaScript/TypeScript familiarity
AWS services: EKS, Lambda, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager
Docker, Kubernetes, Helm or Terraform
Experience with security-first development and financial-grade authentication
Strong communication skills and experience working in collaborative Agile teams
