Network Engineer
CCNP or Higher Level
9-12 months. ONSITE
This role supports and evolves a Cisco-based enterprise network environment, balancing daily operational needs with active project delivery. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining network performance, reliability, and availability across the organization’s infrastructure.
A key focus will be enabling and supporting new initiatives tied to the data center transformation—specifically, configuring network components to support Nutanix deployments and Cohesity integration. This includes ensuring proper connectivity, segmentation, and performance tuning for these platforms.
The role also includes supporting a planned hardware refresh, where new network and security appliances will be deployed. While professional services (Forcepoint) will handle much of the implementation, the engineer will be responsible for preparing the environment, configuring networking components, and ensuring seamless integration into the existing infrastructure.
Experience with Forcepoint or similar security technologies is a plus, as the environment is evolving to include enhanced security capabilities. Overall, this is a hands-on role requiring strong Cisco networking fundamentals, with exposure to infrastructure modernization and security integration projects.
Network Engineer (Cisco Infrastructure & Data Center Transformation)
This role supports and evolves a Cisco-based enterprise network, balancing day-to-day operations with active participation in infrastructure modernization initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining network performance, reliability, and availability while enabling key projects tied to data center transformation.
A major focus of the role includes supporting Nutanix deployments and Cohesity integration by ensuring proper network configuration, segmentation, and performance optimization. The engineer will also play a key role in an upcoming hardware refresh, preparing the environment and integrating new network and security appliances into the existing infrastructure. While external partners (e.g., Forcepoint professional services) will assist with implementation, this role owns internal readiness, configuration, and operational support. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support a Cisco-based enterprise network (LAN/WAN/data center)
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Configure and support switching, routing, and network segmentation (VLANs, subnets, ACLs)
- Enable infrastructure for Nutanix deployments, including connectivity, performance tuning, and traffic flow optimization
- Support Cohesity integration by configuring network access for backup, replication, and file services traffic (NFS/SMB)
- Assist with data center transformation initiatives, including workload migrations and infrastructure consolidation
- Prepare for and support hardware refresh efforts, including installing and integrating new network and security appliances
- Work alongside Forcepoint (or similar vendors) to support deployment of security technologies, ensuring proper network integration
- Configure and maintain firewall rules, security policies, and network access controls
- Ensure proper documentation of network configurations, changes, and diagrams
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and systems teams to support cross-functional initiatives
- Provide operational support, including incident response, root cause analysis, and ongoing maintenance Required Qualifications
- 4–7+ years of experience in network engineering within enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking (switching, routing, and troubleshooting)
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols, ports, and firewalls)
- Experience supporting data center environments and infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with virtualization environments such as Nutanix or VMware
- Experience configuring network segmentation and supporting high-throughput data traffic (backup/replication)
- Ability to support both operational tasks and project-based work simultaneously
- Strong troubleshooting skills across network and infrastructure layers
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with network security platforms such as Forcepoint, Palo Alto, or Fortinet
- Exposure to Cohesity, Veeam, or other backup/data protection platforms
- Experience supporting hardware refresh or infrastructure upgrade initiatives
- Familiarity with cloud connectivity and hybrid infrastructure patterns
