The Collins Engineering Lab & Technician Services organization that resides within the newly formed Collins Engineering Service Solutions organization will lead a large, multifaceted organization of electronics, software, and mechanical technicians that support the Collins engineering development teams across all the Collins SBUs. This leader will hold accountability for the strategic planning and overall performance and execution of over 250 team members supporting across all of the Collins engineering sites and labs. This is a leader of leader role that requires a proven leader with an ability to build relationships, drive results, and collaborate effectively across the Collins organization.

The ideal candidate will be onsite at a key Collins US location

What You Will Do
  • Provides leadership, guidance and training to a team of managers through direct and indirect management. Develops and aligns the staffing plan to meet the Collins E&T changing priority needs. Identifies and develops leadership within the team. Selects, develops and manages the performance of the team members.

  • Leads strategic planning, development of annual operating plan, budgets, resource planning and forecasting for the business unit. Analyzes competition and forecasts with a long-term perspective for process improvement.
  • Aligns business processes, at all sites, with all applicable Enterprise and SBU policies and processes. Provides planning and coordination to all functional levels to ensure success.
  • Must be wiling and able to travel up to 25% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • 2+ years prior leadership experience with direct reports
  • 2+ years working with internal or external customers
  • 2+ years experience working with engineering lab environments

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Employee currently within the specialized Engineering & Technology group, Global Engineering Services (GES)
  • Industrial Engineering experience
  • Previous technical experience and understanding of technical/software skills
  • Experience with CORE, ISO/AS9100, safety, and Collins Quality Guidelines

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
