1. Position Details

• Job Title: Senior Integration Developer – SAP Integration Suite & EDI

2. Job Summary

The Senior Integration Developer is the subject matter expert for SAP Integration Suite in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting integrations connecting SAP with enterprise and partner systems across production, supply chain, procurement, finance, and quality.

The position also manages technical delivery of B2B and EDI integrations with suppliers, customers, carriers, and banks. The developer collaborates with IT, Operations, Business teams, and external partners to establish integration standards, resolve complex data exchange issues, and ensure reliable business-critical interfaces.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. SAP Integration Suite Expertise

• Serve as the technical authority for SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration (CPI), API Management, Event Mesh, and Integration Advisor.

• Define integration patterns, naming conventions, error-handling frameworks, retry mechanisms, and reusable components.

• Review iFlow designs and code, and mentor internal and partner developers.

• Advise on tenant strategy, transport management, security, and message-volume planning.

B. Integration Design and Development

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into interface specifications.

• Design and develop iFlows connecting SAP S/4HANA and ECC with cloud, on-premises, and manufacturing systems.

• Work with IDoc, OData, REST, SOAP, RFC, SFTP, AS2, and JMS adapters.

• Implement message mapping, Groovy scripting, and XSLT transformations.

• Configure secure connectivity using SAP Cloud Connector and publish and secure APIs through SAP API Management.

• Migrate interfaces from SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite, redesigning them where necessary.

C. EDI and B2B Integration

• Design and deliver EDI integrations using ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards.

• Support transaction sets including purchase orders, acknowledgments, advance ship notices, invoices, remittances, and functional acknowledgments (850, 855, 856, 810, 820, 997).

• Map EDI documents to and from SAP IDocs, including ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV, and INVOIC.

• Develop mapping guidelines and partner agreements using SAP Integration Advisor and Trading Partner Management, where adopted.

• Onboard trading partners through AS2, SFTP, or VAN connectivity, including certificate exchange, partner testing, and go-live support.

D. Production Support and Optimization

• Establish integration monitoring, alerting, and message tracing.

• Lead the resolution of production integration incidents.

• Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to improve reliability, performance, and data accuracy.

• Provide knowledge transfer, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides to Production Support teams.

E. Documentation

• Create and maintain integration architecture diagrams.

• Prepare interface specifications, mapping documents, and partner setup records.

• Maintain troubleshooting guides and technical documentation.

F. Security and Compliance

• Ensure integration solutions comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Implement secure authentication and encryption using OAuth, certificates, and PGP.

• Manage keys and certificates used for partner connections.

G. Testing and Deployment

• Develop unit, integration, and partner test scripts.

• Coordinate testing activities with business stakeholders.

• Prepare and execute deployment plans using established transport and CI/CD processes.

H. Project Management and Collaboration

• Provide technical expertise, estimates, status updates, and risk assessments for integration projects.

• Build strong working relationships with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

• Lead technical discussions and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

4. Required Qualifications

Education

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor of Arts or Science.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Experience Requirements

5. Required Technical Skills

• Expert-level SAP Integration Suite (CPI), iFlow design, adapters, message mapping, Groovy scripting, XSLT, exception subprocesses, JMS or data store retry, and monitoring.

• Strong knowledge of IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, OData, REST, and SOAP APIs.

• Experience with XML, JSON, CSV, and flat-file formats.

• SAP PI/PO and SAP Cloud Connector.

• EDI standards: ANSI X12 and/or EDIFACT.

• EDI-to-SAP IDoc mapping.

• B2B connectivity using AS2, SFTP, and VAN.

• Certificate and PGP key management.

• SAP API Management, OAuth 2.0, and certificate-based authentication.

• SQL and data querying for data analysis and validation.

• DevOps, CI/CD, Git, and SAP Cloud Transport Management.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

6. Preferred Skills

• SAP Integration Advisor and Trading Partner Management.

• SAP Certified Associate or Professional certification in SAP Integration Suite.

• SAP Event Mesh, Advanced Event Mesh, and SAP Edge Integration Cell.

• Other integration and EDI platforms, including MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM Sterling, OpenText, and SPS Commerce.

• Azure integration services.

• SAP integration with procurement platforms such as Coupa.

• Manufacturing and supply chain processes, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and production.
