Senior Solutions Engineer - Remote
ABOUT VERAPATH
Verapath is an AI governance and security platform used by banks, wealth managers, and other financial institutions. Our development team builds the product itself: a C# / .NET web application that runs on Azure and AWS and connects to AI providers such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic and AWS Bedrock.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys turning business requirements into a sound technical design and then helping build it. At Verapath, we build one multi-cloud AI governance platform used by many financial institutions. Our best work happens when the team understands the business need deeply, agrees on the right technical approach, and sees it through to a well-tested, well-documented release.
In this role, you will work closely with the team to take features from requirements to release. You will contribute to our technical direction, help shape our quality assurance and testing practices, build alongside your teammates, and mentor an associate engineer as they grow. If you enjoy solving hard problems with other people and helping others do their best work, we would love to hear from you. You must be willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements. Collaborate with product, business, and compliance stakeholders to understand the goal and the real problem, and help define clear technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to the solution. Work with the team to turn requirements into architecture, scope, and a delivery approach. Help explain options, tradeoffs, cost, and risk in plain language so stakeholders can make informed decisions.
• Design and build multi-cloud applications and AI-enabled systems, writing production code alongside the team.
• Strengthen QA and software testing. Help shape our testing strategy, from unit and integration tests to regression and user acceptance testing, and contribute to building out test automation.
• Support release quality. Work with the team on the criteria a release should meet, help make sure changes are properly tested before they ship, and keep results documented and traceable to requirements.
• Build for regulated environments. Design with security, privacy, and auditability in mind, and help our customers meet their compliance and change-management needs.
• Mentor and support. Support an associate engineer through code review, pairing, and testing practices, and contribute to the team's practices and standards.
WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING
Experienced engineers take many paths to a role like this. We do not expect anyone to match every item below. If much of it reflects your experience, please apply.
• A track record of designing and delivering software systems from early ideas through production
• Experience translating business requirements from stakeholders into technical requirements and designs
• Firsthand work with one or more major cloud platforms, and an interest in working across several
• Experience building with AI or LLM technologies, such as agents, retrieval, or AI-assisted development
• Hands-on experience with QA and software testing, including test strategy, test automation, and clear documentation of results
• Experience in regulated settings, such as legal, healthcare, or government
• Experience mentoring others, whether formally or by being the person teammates turn to
• Clear writing and the ability to explain complex ideas simply
Bonus points for experience in any of these areas, which come up often in our work:
• Finance: banking, lending, payments, investment, or other financial services systems
• Compliance: working within frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or financial and privacy regulations, including audit readiness and change management
• Security: secure architecture, identity and access management, threat modeling, data protection, or security reviews
• AI-assisted quality assurance / automation: using AI to generate, maintain, or prioritize tests, or to speed up test analysis
• Release management: release planning, quality gates, and CI/CD pipelines that make sure changes are properly tested before they are released
We value depth of experience over a specific number of years. People who have moved into engineering from other fields, or who’ve taken career breaks, are warmly encouraged to apply.
