By leveraging advanced satellite technology, the team is working toward a future where reliable, high-quality connectivity is accessible regardless of location.
The Engineering organization is a multidisciplinary technology team focused on rapidly delivering targeted, scalable solutions for specialized customers across both space-based and terrestrial applications. The team collaborates closely with satellite constellation programs to provide seamless communication capabilities tailored to mission needs.
We are seeking an experienced Production Manufacturing Engineer with strong Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) expertise supporting electrical systems and components in aerospace environments. You will work cross-functionally to architect, design, and implement scalable manufacturing processes and tools for space-based and terrestrial product solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Apply DFMA principles to electrical system designs including PCBs, wire harnesses, connectors, and avionics assemblies using IPC-610/620 standards
Partner with electrical design engineers and suppliers to optimize component selection, assembly flow, and manufacturing processes
Develop and implement electrical assembly processes such as soldering, crimping, potting, and conformal coating
Create work instructions, process documentation, and quality control procedures
Conduct design reviews to identify manufacturability risks in schematics, PCB layouts, and harness designs
Support supplier qualification and component selection activities
Implement automated testing solutions including functional testing, continuity checks, and hi-pot testing
Drive cost reduction through DFMA analysis
Ensure compliance with aerospace electrical standards including AS9100 and IPC requirements
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for assembly defects
Develop and maintain manufacturing BOMs, routings, and MES workflows
Implement SPC and quality control standards
Specify and program assembly equipment and control systems, including PLC networking and protocols
Implement automated documentation and work-order systems
Lead DFM/DFC reviews and support design release activities
Architect and validate manufacturing operations systems down to shop-floor workflows
Track and report KPIs such as OEE, throughput, capacity utilization, OTD, and FPY
Manage non-conformances, anomalies, and defects while driving continuous improvement in high-rate production environments
