ECS is seeking a
Technical SETA - Biopharmaceutical / Nucleic Acid Manufacturing Specialist to join our team and support an ARPA-H Program Manager developing breakthrough technologies in gene and cell therapies. This is a remote position.
These SETA duties include but are not limited to: - Assist, support, and provide advice to the Program Manager to further the development and progress of new and existing programs.
- Search and review industrial, scientific, and technical literature in areas of product development and manufacturing of DNA, RNA, and viral vectors for therapies.
- Analyze technical, scientific, regulatory, and technoeconomic data with respect to novelty, rigor, and robustness.
- Clearly and concisely synthesize takeaways. Compare and contrast technical approaches and innovations.
- Under the leadership of a PM and working with a team, build and maintain detailed program plans.
- Write and review technical documents and solicitations.
- Conduct thorough technical scientific evaluation of the current R&D landscape to identify gaps in research portfolios and address critical needs that are aligned with the ARPA-H mission.
- Monitor and track performers progress toward established metrics.
- Read and digest complex information and develop team and executive level briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Use your strong logical and critical thinking skills to critically review scientific and technical data.
- Integrate into an existing team to support current ARPA-H efforts and operate independently and in a group environment in support of technical R&D efforts.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as collecting, sorting, analyzing, and writing Internal programmatic reports/briefings on relevant topics in a health-related field.
- Some CONUS travel is expected (~10-20%) as needed to fully support the Program Manager and Program.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $180,000

Required Skills - Minimum 5 years of industry experience in the biopharmaceutical or biomanufacturing industry.
- PhD in cell or molecular biology or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in cell and molecular biology laboratory techniques.
- Experience with QC analytical techniques and assay development for cell and gene therapies.
- Experience with genetic engineering techniques for mammalian cells.
- Experience with stem cell differentiation techniques.
- Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Ability to integrate, process, analyze, and synthesize search data.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work in a high-paced environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in expanding knowledge to new scientific areas.
- Ability and willingness to brainstorm with other colleagues to find alternative solutions to scientific/technical problems.
- Must be willing to quickly adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Must be able to obtain a federal government Public Trust clearance.
Desired Skills - Knowledge of the current FDA regulations is a plus.
- CDMO or GMP lab experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with GLP environment is a plus.
- Experience with IND-enabling studies is a plus.
