Position Overview
The Applications
Developer/Engineer will collaborate with the existing development team to
support, modernize, and upgrade a portfolio of critical agency applications. A
primary responsibility will be rewriting legacy
MS Access ADP applications and migrating them to ACCDB format and updated SQL Server
environments.

Responsibilities

• Convert applications from MS Access ADP to MS Access ACCDB.
• Migrate backend databases from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2016 or higher, including SSIS job updates.
• Work with internal development teams to maintain and enhance application stability and reliability.
• Assist in determining strategic direction for future application architecture and technology choices.
• Maintain documentation, code versioning best practices, and development standards.
• Provide user support and ensure a positive transformation experience during application upgrades.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience developing and supporting MS Access and MS SQL Server applications.
• Hands-on experience with Access ADP, ACCDB, and SSIS jobs.
• Proficiency in VBA and exposure to ASP.NET development.
• Experience supporting database migrations and modernizing legacy applications (on-premise and cloud).
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with users and technical teams with varying technical expertise.
• Familiarity with SQL Server administration.
• Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
• Prior experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience gathering and documenting business/functional requirements.
• Knowledge of modern cloud and collaboration technologies such as:
  • GitHub
  • Salesforce (PSS/Apex)
  • Jira
  • SharePoint
  • Power BI
  • PowerApps

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
