Job Posting: Network Engineer - Test & Turn-Up (OT / Infrastructure)

Location: 100% REMOTE

Employment Type: 12 month contract

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to support the deployment and activation of critical network infrastructure that powers real-world operations - including substations, control centers, and field environments.
This is not a typical corporate IT role. You'll be working on networks that support energy and infrastructure systems, ensuring everything is tested, secure, and fully operational before going live.

What You'll Do

As a Test & Turn-Up (TTU) Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

• Performing end-to-end testing and validation of new network deployments
• Bringing new circuits, devices, and sites online and production-ready
• Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches
• Implementing Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation
• Supporting industrial networking equipment (e.g., Ruggedcom) in field environments
• Validating connectivity across fiber, Ethernet, and transport networks
• Ensuring monitoring tools (SNMP, syslog, NetFlow) are integrated and working
• Creating documentation, diagrams, and turn-up reports
• Partnering with engineering, field teams, and cybersecurity to ensure smooth deployments

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Experience with Cisco networking (routing & switching)
• Hands-on experience with network deployment, testing, or turn-up activities
• Experience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate) or similar technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot real-world network issues in live environments

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in utilities, substations, or industrial/OT environments
• Familiarity with SCADA or operational technology systems
• Experience with Ruggedcom or other industrial networking equipment
• Knowledge of MPLS, fiber networks, or transport technologies (DWDM, microwave)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
