The Air Force, Space & Intelligence Business Group (AFSI) of SAIC is seeking a Senior Storage Administrator to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.
SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation's information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.
Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).
Job Description A Senior Storage Administrator manages, designs, and optimizes an organization's enterprise data storage infrastructure (SAN/NAS/Cloud) to ensure high availability, security and performance. Candidate will be responsible for capacity planning, troubleshooting complex storage issues, implementing the backup/disaster recovery solution, and leading infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Management: installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise SAN/NAS hardware and software, including fiber channel switches and storage arrays.
Performance & Capacity: proactively monitor storage performance, identifying bottlenecks and forecasting capacity needs to meet business growth.
Data Protection: implementing backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Troubleshooting: resolving complex storage hardware and software issues.
Security: Ensuring data security by implementing access controls and encryption.
Project Leadership: Leading storage/backup-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and vendor management.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and configuration standards.
Please note: This position requires reporting on-site at customer location in Quantico, VA a minimum of three (3) times per week. Qualifications It is required that the Senior Storage Administrator have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience. Four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- ship and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- IAT-II Certification in one of the following areas: CCNA-Security, CySA+, Security+CE and/or CND.
- Proficiency with major vendors (e.g.,Dell EMD, NetApp).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Fibre Channel, SCSI, NAS, SAN and Enterprise Flash Drives.
- Virtualization: Strong experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, vMotion, datastores).
- Must be able to mentor more junior team members.
Desired Skills: Extensive experience with the Dell storage and date protection solutions to include:
- Dell Power Protect Data Management.
- Dell Avamar and Data Domain.
- Dell PowerScale Storage arrays.
- Dell Unity Storage arrays.
- Applicable Storage Computer Environment (CE) Certification.
- Dell Unity and Identy Data Protection Appliances.
- Strong technical fundamentals to include site-to-site replication, restoration of systems, documentation of architecture and forecasting of resource utilization metrics.
