The Senior Offensive Security Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Senior Offensive Security Engineer plans, prioritizes, and executes offensive security operations. Manages and coordinates with Managed Service Security Providers (MSSPs) to prioritize and execute offensive security operations. Develops Offensive Security program strategies and key performance indicators used to measure and track efforts and results related to offensive security operations. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications:- Excellent working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, threat intelligence, incident response, and offensive security to develop offensive campaigns that leverage that information to identify gaps, test remediation work, and/or ensure control baselines are maintained
- Experience with common offensive security tools and techniques that attackers leverage in their campaigns
- Proficient in the following scripting languages: Python, Bash, and PowerShell
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience coordinating and prioritizing objectives from multiple teams working with the same project
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong understanding of network protocols, architectures, and security solutions
- Ability to document findings and develop clear technical reports
Preferred Qualifications:- Preferred bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, offensive security, blue team, or a related field
Remote/WAH requirements:
- WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
- Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$117,600 - $161,700 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
