- Develop, configure, calibrate, and maintain wireless test beds to ensure accurate and repeatable performance measurements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test procedures, test reports, and other technical documentation.
- Identify, reproduce, isolate, and troubleshoot wireless defects using debugging tools and performance analysis techniques.
- Analyze wireless behavior, connectivity issues, throughput, latency, and other performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency, repeatability, and overall test coverage.
- Use network analysis tools, including Wireshark and iPerf, to investigate protocol behavior and diagnose performance issues.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, systems, and other cross-functional engineering teams to resolve issues and improve product quality.
- Communicate test results, defect findings, and technical observations clearly to relevant stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Software Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or Wireless Test Engineer working with wireless technologies.
- Strong understanding of IEEE 802.11 MAC and PHY protocols and Wi-Fi operation.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and wireless network fundamentals.
- Programming or scripting experience with at least one language, such as Python, Perl, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostic and packet analysis tools such as Wireshark and iPerf.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, particularly macOS and Unix/Linux environments.
- Demonstrated debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with white-box testing and software-level debugging.
- Experience developing automated test frameworks or reusable test scripts.
- Familiarity with wireless performance benchmarking, packet captures, and network traffic analysis.
- Experience maintaining laboratory test environments and calibrated wireless measurement setups.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
