Job Title: Lead Android Engineer
Location: North Carolina (Hybrid – Local Only)
Duration: Contract to Hire

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Android Engineer to design and build high-performance mobile applications using modern Android technologies. The role involves leading development efforts, mentoring teams, and driving best practices in a collaborative Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead design, development, and implementation of native Android applications
Mentor developers and enforce best practices in performance & architecture
Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams
Write clean, scalable code with unit/UI testing (JUnit, Espresso)
Drive CI/CD, code quality, and production support activities

Required Skills:

10+ years of software development; 5+ years in Android
Strong experience with Kotlin/Java and Android SDK
Expertise in MVVM/MVI, data structures, and design patterns
Experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow
Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms
Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Gradle, Fastlane)

Nice to Have:

Experience with Room DB, Splunk/Honeycomb
Strong Agile/Scrum experience
