Industrial Controls Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's leading industrial printing and enterprise technology client is seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Engineer to support high-speed industrial press systems onsite in Corvallis, OR. This role is focused on motion-centric PLC engineering for complex mechanical systems. The Engineer will support press subsystems involving coordinated mechanical motion, safety systems, and operator interfaces.

Responsibilities:
* Develop, program, and support motion-based industrial control systems for press equipment
* Program and maintain B&R PLC systems using Automation Studio
* Implement single-axis and multi-axis motion control for web handling, ink delivery, and press mechanisms
* Design, implement, and maintain machine safety logic and safe motion functions
* Develop and support HMI applications for operators using standardized, reusable architectures
* Support commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting of press control systems
* Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and service teams
* Support knowledge transfer and overlap with existing engineers during transition periods

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred
* 5+ years of post-degree experience in industrial controls or automation engineering
* Background in environments with significant mechanical motion such as industrial automation or packaging systems
* Press-specific experience not required
* Direct B&R experience; Other PLC platforms do not substitute
* Hands-on experience with B&R Automation Studio
* Experience supporting complex mechanical motion systems

Strong production experience with the following B&R mapp modules:
* Mapp Motion: single-axis, multi-axis, coordinated motion, sequencing, and tuning
* Mapp Safety: safety PLCs, safety logic, and safe motion functions
* Mapp View: HTML5-based HMI development using reusable widgets and services
* Mapp Alarm, mapp Recipe, and mapp OEE (nice to have)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
