What You’ll Do:
Client is hiring a six-month contractor for the role of Generative AI Training Specialist. We are seeking candidates who are energized by the fast-moving world of generative AI and enjoy helping people build confidence with new technology.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of User Engagement, Education & Tech Academy, the candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting generative AI training and enablement programs for employees across the enterprise. This individual will partner closely with our platform administrators, team of existing facilitators and other HTS stakeholders to ensure employees are fully supported on generative AI tools.

• Design and facilitate live and on-demand training on generative AI tools, including (but not limited to) ClientGPT, ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude.
• Build and deliver training on AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, helping engineering and technical teams learn to use these tools effectively in their day-to-day development work.
• Develop clear, engaging learning materials, including guides, job aids, and video content, for employees at varying levels of AI fluency.
• Support the Generative AI Champions community group and other Tech Academy programs by contributing content and aligning to existing sessions.
• Serve as a support resource for employee questions about AI tools, use cases, and responsible use guidelines.
• Partner with HTS stakeholders to ensure training reflects current Hearst policies on data privacy and AI usage.
• Track training participation, learner feedback, and engagement metrics to continuously improve program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to stay current on AI tool updates and surface relevant learning opportunities.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in training, instructional design, adult education, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, or similar); experience training others on generative AI tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, with the ability to translate their capabilities into training for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Holds a bachelor’s degree in adult education, instructional design, communications, or a related field, or has equivalent work experience.
• Experience designing and facilitating both live (virtual/in-person) and asynchronous learning.
• Understanding of adult learning theory and how to apply it to AI-related content.
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment where tools, policies, and best practices evolve quickly.
• Strong organizational skills and consistent attention to detail across multiple concurrent projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, specifically Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook.
• Available to work from the Hearst Tower in New York City 3 days per week with an anchor day of Tuesdays.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with responsible AI use principles and data privacy considerations is a plus.
