Summary

Senior Structural Engineer / PM

Our client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing structural team of seven, including two designers and three structural engineers, one of whom is retiring. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, take ownership of repeat clients, and contribute to business development. The ideal candidate is looking for career growth, with the potential to transition into the Structural Group Manager role.

Current Projects

Our structural group primarily works on industrial and commercial projects, with increasing project demands over the past several months. Current and recent projects include:
  • Industrial facilities and NDA projects
  • Various other commercial and industrial design projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead structural design efforts for industrial and commercial projects.
  • Serve as the primary engineer on projects, managing technical design and coordination.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Engage in project management (10%+ of the role, with potential for more based on experience).
  • Maintain strong relationships with repeat clients while being open to business development opportunities.
  • Ensure that all projects meet QA standards and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines as needed.
  • Potential local travel within a few-hour radius for site visits.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license & Structural Engineer (SE) license (required)
  • 6+ years of structural engineering experience in commercial and/or industrial projects
  • Strong technical design skills and ability to lead projects independently
  • Experience with project management and client coordination
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal collaboration and client interaction
  • Interest in growing into a leadership role (Structural Group Manager)
