Our client is seeking a Lead Engineer with deep expertise in .NET, C#, SQL Server, and Azure. You will lead backend-focused initiatives to build scalable, cloud-native applications and drive Azure migration work in an AI-enhanced development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor others while delivering production-grade software and tests.

Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise applications using .NET, C#, and SQL Server.
Architect and execute Azure migration strategies including re-platforming and modernization.
Build and optimize cloud-native solutions using Azure services such as AKS, Cosmos DB, App Services, and Functions.
Operate in an AI-driven SDLC, translating stakeholder inputs into specifications with AI copilots.
Collaborate with generative AI to iterate on user flows, interfaces, and architectures.
Pair program with AI tools to write, refactor, and test code in real time.
Deliver production-grade code and testing practices suitable for financial services.
Implement intelligent testing frameworks that auto-generate test cases and predict defects.
Leverage code assistants to navigate large codebases and implement improvements.
Write automated tests concurrently with code to support CI/CD and API testing.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in cloud engineering and AI-assisted development.

Experience Requirements:

8+ years of software engineering experience focused on .NET and C#.
Proficiency in SQL Server and database design.
Proven experience with Azure migration and cloud-native application development.
Familiarity with AI code assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
Experience with automated testing, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to work in an agile environment with AI-enhanced workflows.
Preferred: Microservices architecture, containers, and orchestration.
Preferred: Production-grade code practices with full automation and continuous delivery.
Preferred: Knowledge of Azure DevOps and related Azure tools.
Preferred: Exposure to AI/ML concepts and tools.
Preferred: Strong communication skills and ownership mindset.
Preferred: Technical lead experience and collaboration with offshore teams.
Preferred: Familiarity with CNCF projects.
