This role emphasizes precision assembly and quality over high-volume manufacturing, ensuring reliability for mission-critical payload and vehicle systems.

You will work across engineering and production environments, supporting builds ranging from quick-turn assemblies (1-2 hours) to complex systems (1-2 weeks).
What You'll Do
Assembly & Integration

  • Build and integrate:
    • Circuit cards (PCBA/CCA)
    • RF boxes and enclosures
    • Panels and assemblies
  • Execute:
    • Wiring, crimping, soldering, and connector work
    • Mechanical fastening and torque application
Testing & Validation
  • Conduct basic electrical testing:
    • Power on/off checks
    • Functional validation (no advanced diagnostics)
  • Perform testing, checkout, troubleshooting, and fault isolation
  • Assist in identifying and resolving malfunctions
Production & Collaboration
  • Support engineering, manufacturing, and lab environments
  • Assist with assembly of new and updated designs alongside engineering teams
  • Provide input on process improvements and build efficiency
  • Maintain strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
  • Support multiple systems and platforms across programs
Final Assembly & Finishing
  • Panel installation, labeling, and safety wiring
  • Fabricate, terminate, repair, and test wire harnesses
  • Apply/remove polymerics:
    • Staking, potting, encapsulation, conformal coating
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in:
    • Aerospace avionics, electronics assembly, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Soldering, wiring, and electro-mechanical assembly
    • Wire harness fabrication and repair
    • Torque application for fasteners
  • Ability to:
    • Read schematics, diagrams, and work instructions
    • Work in ESD-controlled (EPA) environments
  • Proficiency with:
    • Standard assembly tools, multimeters, and power supplies
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work a full schedule with occasional overtime

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in:
    • Aerospace, avionics, or similar high-reliability industries
  • Experience with:
    • RF systems, battery systems, or high-voltage assemblies
  • Familiarity with:
    • Inspection and certification to industry standards
    • Non-conformance documentation and repair processes
    • Electronic work orders and configuration systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools
Certifications (Highly Valued)
  • IPC Standards:
    • J-STD-001 (Soldering)
    • IPC-A-610 (Circuit Board Acceptability)
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable & Wire Harness)
    • IPC 7711/7721 (Rework & Repair)
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Background in precision assembly environments (e.g., aerospace, medical devices, life safety equipment)
  • Familiarity with modular, component-based assembly (LEGO-style systems)
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Why Join This Opportunity
  • Work on cutting-edge avionics and space systems
  • Gain exposure to development, test, and flight hardware
  • Opportunity to transition from contract to permanent role
  • Be part of a team focused on high-quality, mission-critical builds
