Position Overview
We are seeking an Intermediate-level Google Cloud Platform Incubator Consultant to join an innovation-focused engineering team responsible for building cloud-native prototypes, MVPs (Minimum Viable Products), and early-stage software solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing in Python, provisioning infrastructure using Terraform, and deploying scalable workloads within Google Cloud Platform environments.
This role requires someone comfortable working in ambiguous startup-style environments, rapidly iterating on ideas, and helping transition experimental solutions into production-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud-native applications and prototypes on Google Cloud Platform
• Develop backend services, APIs, automation scripts, and integrations using Python
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Deploy and configure Google Cloud Platform services including compute, networking, IAM, storage, and monitoring components
• Assist in building MVPs and proof-of-concepts for new products and internal initiatives
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, and engineering stakeholders to convert business ideas into technical solutions
• Support migration of incubator projects from prototype stage into production environments
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes
• Participate in troubleshooting, performance optimization, and cloud cost management
• Document architectures, deployment processes, and operational procedures
• Follow cloud security and governance best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications
Cloud Platforms

• 2–5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience working with services such as:
  • Compute Engine
  • Cloud Run / Cloud Functions
  • GKE (preferred) / Cloud Storage
  • BigQuery (nice to have) / Pub/Sub
  • Secret Manager / IAM / VPC Networking

Infrastructure as Code

• Strong experience with Terraform
• Ability to:
  • Build reusable modules
  • Provision Google Cloud Platform resources
  • Manage state files/workspaces
  • Implement environment-specific deployments

Development

• 2–5+ years of Python development
• Experience with:
  • REST APIs
  • Automation scripting
  • Backend services
  • Flask/FastAPI (preferred)
  • Data processing workflows (nice to have)

DevOps / CI-CD
Experience with one or more:

• GitHub Actions
• Jenkins / GitLab CI/CD
• Cloud Build / Docker  / Kubernetes (preferred)

Additional Requirements

• Experience operating in Agile or startup/incubator environments
• Ability to work independently with evolving requirements
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Comfortable working onsite in San Francisco
