Security Systems TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Security Systems Technician with prior experience installing and troubleshooting residential and commercial security systems. This role supports high-volume, repeat installations primarily within HOA communities and requires strong customer communication skills and technical aptitude.
Technicians will use their own vehicle (no company service vehicle provided) and may be dispatched from home or the office using a GANT scheduling system.
Key Responsibilities- Install and service security monitoring systems in residential and commercial environments.
- Perform installations and troubleshooting of:
- CCTV and surveillance camera systems
- IP cameras
- Access control systems and card readers
- Wireless keypads
- Burglar alarm systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Program and support systems including Brivo, DSC, Ademco, CCTV platforms, and IP camera systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory with a required 98%+ inventory accuracy.
- Inventory is picked up weekly from the ADT office.
- Technician is responsible for inventory for the full week.
- Inventory audits occur quarterly.
- Provide professional, customer-facing service within client homes and HOA communities.
- Identify and upsell additional services when appropriate (6% commission on upsells).
Training- 2-3 days of paid ride-along training with current full-time technicians.
- Training pay is capped at $17/hour.
- Transition to full pay rate once training is successfully completed (typically within 4-6 weeks, depending on performance).
Required Skills & Experience- Previous experience installing or troubleshooting home security systems.
- Experience working with low-voltage systems.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Burglar alarm systems
- DSC
- Ademco
- Brivo
- CCTV
- IP Cameras
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to adapt in the field.
- Comfortable working independently and managing repetitive, high-volume installs.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for in-home customer interactions.
- Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to drive daily.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Palm Beach, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
