Title: Instructional Designer II
Pay Range: $47 - $50 per hour
We re seeking an instructional designer who can design and develop self-guided learning materials and events for global audiences. The ideal candidate has experience designing and developing blended-learning solutions including, multi-media scripts, interactive online activities, facilitator guides, hands-on training activities, and knowledge checks for both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. They must demonstrate and utilize consultation skills, needs analysis and time management skills. The ideal candidate has strong writing and analytical skills. They can analyze existing learning materials, identify content structure gaps, and revise the content flow to close the identified gaps. They can work collaboratively with project team, SMEs, and stakeholders. Skills requirements include technical writing, curriculum and course development, ability to work independently with minimal direction and write content for a variety of audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Defines and documents learning objectives.
- Reviews and rewrites existing learning materials to optimize learning experiences.
- Creates course descriptions and course outlines.
- Storyboards interactive online activities.
- Designs engaging, interactive and accessible online courses.
- Creates training materials for both facilitators and learners for in-person and synchronous virtual training experiences.
- Organizes course documentations.
- Conducts research on some subjects to improve content accuracy.
- Recommends knowledge frameworks when needed.
- Develop assessment tools for learning and for learning experiences.
- At least two (2) years of experience in designing and developing learning materials, including interactive online activities.
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and superb attention to details and deadlines.
- Knowledge and application of adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies for in-person and synchronous virtual trainings, and asynchronoself-guided online learning.
- Ability to navigate complex learning design problems and identify creative solutions.
- Ability to develop assessment tools for learning and learning experiences.
- Understanding of accessibility requirements for inclusive learning experiences.
- A degree in instructional design, learning technologies, educational technology, or related field.
- Knowledge of learning technologies (e.g. Articulate Storyline 360, LMS, LCMS) and ability to master new technologies quickly.
- Basic knowledge of HTML (enough to use templates without breaking the code).
- Ability to work effectively with multi-functional teams and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
