Senior TypeScript/Node.JS Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior TypeScript/Node.JS Software Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using JavaScript and TypeScript
* Contribute primarily to back-end services while remaining comfortable picking up front-end work as needed
* Develop and maintain APIs using REST (GraphQL experience is a plus)
* Work with data stores such as MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL
* Collaborate closely with product, UX, and engineering teammates on new initiatives
* Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve velocity and reduce backlog
* Review, refactor, and extend existing codebases with a strong emphasis on clarity and maintainability
* Clearly explain and justify code decisions - if it's in the codebase, you understand it

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of professional software development experience
* Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
* Hands-on experience with Node.js and back-end API development
* Front-end experience with React, Angular, or Vue (React preferred, but not required)
* Familiarity with MongoDB or relational databases (PostgreSQL experience acceptable)
* Experience working across the full stack, even if weighted toward back end (e.g., 60/40, 70/30, or similar)
* Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity for learning new tools and technologies
* A collaborative mindset with -strong opinions, loosely held

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications:
* Experience with GraphQL
* Exposure to high-volume or event-driven data systems
* Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools (e.g., AI-enabled IDEs or coding assistants)
* Experience refactoring or modernizing legacy JavaScript codebases into TypeScript
* Understanding of NoSQL performance optimization (e.g., indexing strategies)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
