Pay Range: $75 - $80/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Live creation on-call rotation, including triage, investigation, mitigation, and root cause analysis of production issues.
- Debug and resolve issues spanning web frontend and backend services in the Live creation stack.
- Ship bug fixes, reliability improvements, and small to medium feature work.
- Improve on-call health by reducing noisy alerts, updating runbooks, and adding monitoring, logging, and dashboards.
- Write and maintain tests covering critical Live creation flows.
- Document findings and fixes so knowledge stays with the team.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong web development experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
- Strong backend development experience building and debugging server-side services and APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently: can take an ambiguous production issue, drive it to resolution, and know when to escalate.
- Experience with production support or on-call in a high-traffic consumer product.
- Comfortable navigating and making safe changes in a large existing codebase with minimal onboarding support.
- Strong written communication, since much of the work is asynchronous and documented.
- Experience with live video, streaming, or real-time media systems.
- Experience with GraphQL.
- Background in reliability, observability, or SEV response.
- Experience working with distributed or globally located teams.
