Role : SQL Database Developer
Location : Remote
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL database solutions supporting scalable digital applications, leveraging 5+ years of hands-on database development experience.
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and database packages to meet application and business requirements.
• Design and maintain data models and database schemas, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and scalability.
• Perform query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis to support high-volume and mission-critical workloads.
• Collaborate with application, API, cloud, and DevOps teams to design efficient data access patterns within modern architectures.
• Support data migration, transformation, and modernization initiatives, applying proven approaches gained through 5+ years of real-world experience.
• Participate actively in Agile delivery, including sprint planning, design reviews, code reviews, and release activities.
• Apply database development best practices for version control, CI/CD integration, documentation, and secure coding.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, availability, and performance across development, test, and production environments.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Developer supporting enterprise or digital application platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with advanced SQL and procedural programming (e.g., T‑SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL).
• Strong experience with one or more database technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or cloud-native databases.
• Proven expertise in data modeling, indexing strategies, transactions, locking, and concurrency management.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex data and performance issues.
Preferred Skills
• 5+ years of experience supporting application-facing databases in distributed or microservices-based architectures.
• Experience with cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL / PostgreSQL, AWS RDS or Aurora, or Google Cloud Platform Cloud SQL.
• Exposure to ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, or analytics-driven workloads.
• Experience with database DevOps, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of data security practices, encryption, role-based access, and compliance considerations.
• Experience working with high-availability, high‑volume, or performance‑critical systems.
