🚀 Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior SAS Viya Migration Lead to drive large-scale SAS 9.x → SAS Viya 4 modernization programs for enterprise clients.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a learning position. You will own end-to-end migration delivery — from assessment and strategy to code conversion, CAS re-engineering, and post-migration validation.

You’ll act as the bridge between legacy SAS environments and cloud-native SAS Viya platforms, working closely with business, analytics, and infrastructure teams.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

SAS Migration Strategy & Assessment

• Lead SAS 9.x estate assessments (Base SAS, Macros, DI Studio, EG, Grid)
• Analyze migration complexity using SAS Migration Utility (SMU)
• Define migration architecture, CAS strategy, and execution roadmap
• Build migration runbooks, timelines, and wave-based execution plans

Code Conversion & Modernization

• Convert Base SAS, PROC SQL, Macros → CAS-optimized code (CASL, CAS actions)
• Migrate DI Studio → SAS Data Management Studio / Data Studio
• Re-engineer SAS Grid workloads → Viya Job Execution Service
• Convert SAS EG & Stored Processes → SAS Studio (Viya)

SAS Viya Implementation

• Configure CAS, caslibs, access controls
• Set up CI/CD pipelines (GitLab / Azure DevOps) for SAS promotion
• Execute parallel run validation (SAS 9 vs Viya)
• Implement REST API-based orchestration

MLOps & Model Migration (Nice to Have)

• Migrate SAS Enterprise Miner → Model Studio / Model Manager
• Deploy models using MAS (Micro Analytic Service)

Stakeholder & Delivery Leadership

• Act as primary SME for SAS migration programs
• Lead client workshops, design sessions, and KT sessions
• Manage risks, blockers, and migration governance
• Mentor junior developers on CAS & Viya best practices

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Drive parallel run testing frameworks
• Ensure data reconciliation & zero data loss
• Troubleshoot CAS/session/performance issues

SAS Expertise (10+ Years)

• Strong in Base SAS, Macros, PROC SQL
• Experience with:
  • SAS DI Studio
  • SAS Enterprise Guide
  • SAS Grid Manager
  • Stored Processes

SAS Viya Migration (3+ Years – MUST HAVE)

• Hands-on SAS 9.3 / 9.4 → SAS Viya 3.5 / Viya 4 migrations
• Experience with:
  • SAS Migration Utility (SMU)
  • Code conversion & re-engineering
  • Grid to Viya workload migration
  • Parallel validation & migration sign-offs

SAS Viya Platform

• CAS, CASL, caslibs, in-memory processing
• SAS Studio, Model Manager, Visual Analytics
• Viya CLI, REST APIs

Cloud & Data

• Azure (ADLS Gen2, AKS), AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
• Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Snowflake
• CI/CD: Git, Azure DevOps, GitLab
