Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to manage, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments across on-premises and Microsoft Azure platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, database security, backup and recovery, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR).
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server instances.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, indexes, and T-SQL scripts.
- Manage database backups, recovery, replication, and HA/DR solutions.
- Administer Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
- Implement database security, RBAC, encryption, and access controls.
- Support developers with database design, schema optimization, and code reviews.
- Automate DBA tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell.
- Perform database migrations between on-premises SQL Server and Azure.
- Provide Tier III support and resolve complex database issues.
- Develop technical documentation and database administration standards.
- Collaborate with IT architecture, security teams, and management.
Required Technical Skills
- Microsoft SQL Server Administration and SSMS.
- Advanced T-SQL and database performance tuning.
- SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping, Failover Clustering, and Replication.
- Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Backup.
- Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC.
- Database security, backup, recovery, and migration.
- SSIS and ETL workflows.
- PowerShell scripting and DBA automation.
- Redgate or similar database monitoring and backup tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on enterprise SQL Server DBA experience across on-premises and Azure environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
