Role : CYBER SECURITY ANALYST I

The CW starts in an onboarding phase for 3-5 months where they will be 9am-5pm; then they go into an incubation phase of either 9-5 or 10-6 (changes based on current team needs); then they go to a night shift 6pm-6am, timing varies, could be 3-months to 2-years; then they flip to a day shift 6am-6pm **main NEED is they're willing to work a 6pm-6am shift**
Responsible for support, maintenance and development of tools utilized to generate cyber security events and incidents across the Duke Energy environment. The Analyst will work closely with peers, other internal/external teams and management in a 24x7 Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) environment. The Analyst is also responsible for following processes and procedures as defined by Cybersecurity leadership and the Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT). In this role, the Analyst will monitor security alerts and events generated across the environment, perform daily investigation and triage of potential threats, and correlate activity across multiple security tools to identify malicious behavior or suspicious activity.
- Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, other degrees with high level understanding of network and application security and information systems, or equivalent experience. 5 9 years of experience.

This CW will be helping to maintain and facilitate the cyber incident response procedure. Though this touches exceptionally technical workflow, cyber experience is not a pre-requisite. This facilitator role needs to be technology savvy with experience in the key Microsoft office products. Strong verbal and written communications in addition to experience with managing small projects, keeping organized plans/trackers and working in a technical environment. Experience with developer and/or automation tools is also a desired skillset.
