As the Senior Bioprocessing Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire resin manufacturing process starting at raw materials and ending in finished goods. This is a highly technical role focused on capital project delivery. Expertise in Agarose Resin manufacturing is highly preferred, however, not explicitly required, for the right candidate.

The role will interface heavily with our external engineering partner and specialist critical equipment vendors. You will work directly with the external engineering partner to deliver the process design and be responsible for making and escalating decisions.

The Senior Resin Process Engineer is a key role in reaching corporate goals related to safety, performance, quality, and customer service. You will build relationships with the cross functional stakeholders including operations, quality, engineering, and supply chain. The Ecolab team is a fast-paced and collaborative environment focused on accelerated growth and scale up.

Role will be a hybrid role during the design phases of the project before eventual relocation to the manufacturing site for project execution and future operations.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop an expert level of knowledge for the agarose manufacturing process engineering. Work with other stakeholders (RD&E, Process Development & Production) to ensure that the process is designed with the latest knowledge and understanding.
  • Work with external engineering partner to develop process engineering designs (PFD, P&ID, process descriptions, specifications etc.)
  • Become the subject matter expert for the agarose manufacturing process and work with the wider project team to design a successful end to end process.
  • Support the project managers in project delivery according to cost & time schedules.
  • Evaluate and critique external engineering design outputs and participate in PHA activities.
  • Develop a process design that is efficient and robust. This will require extensive work with multiple stakeholders in RD&E and Supply Chain to ensure that a Technical Transfer plan is setup and successful startup, commissioning and process qualification is carried out.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (or similar)
  • 7 years of experience in process engineering design
  • Day to day management of external engineering firms
  • Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of industry standards for engineering
  • Immigration Sponsorship not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of batch liquids processing
  • Agarose resin manufacturing experience
  • 5 years hands-on plant or field construction experience
  • Background leading technical project teams
  • Experience both on the external engineering side and on the client side of capital projects
