Job Summary

We are seeking an early-career Mechanical Engineer with 1-2 years of hands-on experience to support the research, design, development, integration, and testing of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom computing hardware and electrical/mechanical components. This role involves mechanical design, hardware integration into chassis and enclosures, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to meet customer and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the research, design, development, and testing of COTS and custom computing hardware and electrical/mechanical components
  • Develop mechanical designs for the installation of components and assemblies into:
    • Chassis
    • Racks
    • Cabinets
    • Workstations
    • Customer facilities and shelters
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings and models using CAD tools (Creo or similar)
  • Support hardware integration and packaging efforts for embedded and computing systems
  • Plan, review, and coordinate the preparation of engineering and project documentation to ensure compliance with:
    • Customer contracts
    • Company standards
    • Quality and configuration requirements
  • Assist with vendor evaluation, specification development, and component selection
  • Review and analyze test results and reports, supporting corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, such as:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
  • 1-2 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience (internships or co-ops acceptable)
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, preferably Creo
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to electrical or electromechanical hardware integration
  • Experience working with computing hardware, enclosures, or rack-mounted systems
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation standards and configuration management
  • Experience supporting hardware test and validation activities
