Job Summary

We are seeking an early-career Mechanical Engineer with 1-2 years of hands-on experience to support the research, design, development, integration, and testing of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom computing hardware and electrical/mechanical components. This role involves mechanical design, hardware integration into chassis and enclosures, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to meet customer and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Participate in the research, design, development, and testing of COTS and custom computing hardware and electrical/mechanical components
Develop mechanical designs for the installation of components and assemblies into:
- Chassis
- Racks
- Cabinets
- Workstations
- Customer facilities and shelters
Create and maintain engineering drawings and models using CAD tools (Creo or similar)
Support hardware integration and packaging efforts for embedded and computing systems
Plan, review, and coordinate the preparation of engineering and project documentation to ensure compliance with:
- Customer contracts
- Company standards
- Quality and configuration requirements
Assist with vendor evaluation, specification development, and component selection
Review and analyze test results and reports, supporting corrective actions as needed
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, such as:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
1-2 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience (internships or co-ops acceptable)
Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, preferably Creo
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to electrical or electromechanical hardware integration
Experience working with computing hardware, enclosures, or rack-mounted systems
Familiarity with engineering documentation standards and configuration management
Experience supporting hardware test and validation activities
