Description :-

Senior Snowflake Data Engineer for a premier client in Plano, Texas. The ideal Snowflake Data Engineer will have strong SQL coding expertise and hands-on experience building scalable cloud data platforms. This role will design, develop, and optimize modern data pipelines using Snowflake, Python, DBT, and Snowpipe while ensuring secure, governed, and high-performance data environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing Snowflake architecture, implementing enterprise RBAC governance, and integrating data from multiple sources to deliver clean, reliable datasets for analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau.
This position requires someone comfortable writing SQL from scratch, designing scalable data models, and optimizing data transformation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ELT workflows using Snowflake, DBT, and Python.
  • Develop SQL transformations from scratch to support analytics, reporting, and downstream data consumers.
  • Implement automated ingestion pipelines using Snowpipe for near real-time data loading.
  • Integrate data from multiple enterprise sources (APIs, databases, flat files, cloud platforms) into Snowflake.

Data Modeling & Transformation

  • Develop modular, reusable DBT models to transform raw data into clean, analytics-ready datasets.
  • Design data warehouse models supporting enterprise analytics and BI tools.
  • Optimize DBT model materializations, build performance, and compute usage.

Snowflake Architecture & Optimization

  • Architect scalable Snowflake data warehouse environments.
  • Implement performance optimization techniques including clustering, partitioning, query tuning, and warehouse management.
  • Monitor and optimize compute costs and query performance.

Data Governance & Security

  • Design and implement enterprise RBAC security models in Snowflake.
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive and regulated data.
  • Implement governance frameworks supporting data lineage, auditing, and compliance.

Analytics Enablement

  • Create clean, well-documented datasets optimized for analytics and reporting.
  • Deliver trusted data models used by Tableau and other BI platforms.
  • Collaborate with analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and usability.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead improvements to DBT project architecture and operational efficiency.
  • Implement testing, documentation, and CI/CD best practices for data pipelines.
  • Develop reusable data assets and frameworks to support scalability across the data platform.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills

  • Ideal candidates will come from a Mid-size shop or Start-up
  • Strong SQL coding experience (writing complex SQL from scratch).
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Cloud.
  • Experience implementing Snowpipe for automated data ingestion.
  • Proficiency with DBT (Data Build Tool) for transformation and modeling.
  • Strong Python scripting skills for automation and data processing.
  • Experience designing enterprise RBAC security models in Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ELT frameworks.
  • Experience optimizing query performance and compute usage.

Data Platform & Integration

  • Experience integrating multiple enterprise data sources.
  • Strong understanding of data pipeline orchestration and workflow design.
  • Experience building analytics-ready datasets for BI tools such as Tableau.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern data stack architectures.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
  • Experience with data governance, compliance, and secure data handling.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise data environments.
