Position: Data Architect
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid – 3 days/week from office)

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms, modern data engineering, and AI-driven productivity tools, with a strong focus on building scalable and governed data architectures.

Core Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture standards, reference architectures, and design patterns.
• Lead the architecture and solution design of large-scale data projects, especially in cloud environments.
• Build data layers following Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and ensure proper data flow and transformation.
• Develop and implement data models in columnar databases, 3NF, logical and physical models, and logical layers like domains, sub-domains, and data product strategies.
• Design and implement data governance, security, and access control models to ensure compliance and data integrity.
• Oversee data engineering solutions using Python, PySpark, and Databricks notebooks for efficient ETL/ELT processes.
• Utilize AI-based code assistance tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Databricks Genie) to support code development, refactoring, and productivity.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and GitHub repositories for version control and automated deployments of data pipelines.
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to ensure smooth delivery, knowledge sharing, and alignment with enterprise objectives.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating complex technical requirements into actionable solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 20+ years of experience in data- and AI-driven project delivery.
• 10+ years in enterprise architecture and solution design, with cloud platform expertise.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Cloud Platform.
• 7+ years of experience with Databricks, including strong knowledge of Unity Catalog.
• 7+ years of experience building data layers and implementing Medallion architecture.
• 10+ years of experience in data modeling: columnar DBs, 3NF, logical/physical models, domain/sub-domain strategies.
• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering with Python, PySpark, and Databricks notebooks.
• 5+ years of experience with GitHub, data pipelines, and CI/CD processes.
• Strong expertise in data governance, security, and access control.
• Proven experience in onshore/offshore team collaboration.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
