IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.
Our client is looking for a Surveillance and Access Control Technician that works on a team responsible for facilities-based systems, including but not limited to, surveillance, door control, building automation, and telecommunication. This work includes all aspects of design, planning, installation, and support of the systems, including supporting desktop PCs, servers, network devices, storage solutions, and surveillance-specific equipment.
Tasks
- Install, configure, maintain, and monitor multiple state-wide networks, we are filtering with Palo Altos and Zscaler, as well as mitigating issues as they arise.
- Responsible for extensive system documentation creation and updates.
- Work is performed at the agency s nearly 200 locations, state-wide, including the agency s many secure sites, often independently.
- Delegation and improvisational skills, creativity, adaptability, and strong troubleshooting skills required.
- Day travel is required and long days are common.
- Provides documentation/project tracking and management reporting.
- Provides tactical and strategic input on overall systems planning and related projects
- Performs a variety of tasks independently.
NOTE: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Hybrid Schedule with Work From Home and on-location at prisons as needed. Travel on the team is mostly in-state, day trips. The state provides vehicles out of fleet pool for qualified drivers. There have been some occurrences of overnight travel, but it is very infrequent and planned out well in advance. On call hours required every 8 weeks.

Skills Required:
- 10+ years - Surveillance, network, and server support capabilities with experience in the field or in a related area.
- 3 years - Cisco Networking Knowledge (Routers & Switches)
- 1-2 years - Web Filtering Knowledge (Palo Alto & Zscaler)
- 1-2 years - Video Surveillance Knowledge (Network/Server/Workstation)
- Some College Required (Please include on your resume)
Skills Desired A plus to have:
- Door Controls Knowledge
