Senior Appian Developer (BPM)
Location: Reston, VA (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a strong, hands-on Senior Appian Developer with deep expertise in the Appian BPM platform to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade workflow and process automation solutions. The ideal candidate must be technically strong, solution-oriented, and capable of leading development efforts in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable BPM applications using the Appian platform
Build and optimize Appian SAIL interfaces, process models, business rules, and integrations
Develop and consume REST/SOAP web services
Implement complex workflows, case management, and automation solutions
Perform performance tuning and application optimization
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs
Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best practices
Participate in deployments, production support, and issue resolution
Required Qualifications
8+ years of IT experience with 5+ years of strong hands-on Appian development
Experience with Appian BPM, SAIL, Process Models, Expression Rules, and Integration Objects
Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server/Oracle)
Experience with Web APIs (REST/SOAP) and system integrations
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Appian Certified Senior Developer (Preferred)
Experience with Appian plug-ins and custom smart services
Exposure to DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines)
Experience working in enterprise-scale environments
