Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer

Our client, an IT Services organization supporting commercial and federal clients is seeking a Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer for a dynamic, 100% on-site role in Boston, MA. In this position, you will provide hands-on technical expertise and system administration for our investment, operations, and compliance teams. Looking for someone with hands-on expertise in areas such as VMware configuration, infrastructure resource allocation and utilization, Azure, AD, GPO etc.

This critical role requires seamless coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve desktop, mobile, and AV issues promptly. To be successful, you must be comfortable working onsite five days a week and remain available for 24/7/365 on-call support for urgent system needs

Primary Responsibilities:
- Identity & Security: Lead Azure AD Hybrid administration, focusing on MFA, SSO, Conditional Access, and directory synchronization (Azure AD Connect).
- Endpoint Management: Oversee Microsoft Intune (Autopilot, MDM, compliance) and enterprise desktop administration, including imaging and OS deployment.
- System & Cloud Admin: Manage Windows Server, virtualization platforms, and the M365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Copilot), ensuring tenant hygiene and data governance.
- Security Operations: Operate Microsoft Sentinel for incident investigation and manage patching via Windows Update for Business and Autopatch.
- Firm-Wide Support: Provide comprehensive Level 1-3 hands-on support for desktops, mobile devices, and core infrastructure.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain system documentation and runbooks while performing basic network troubleshooting and vendor coordination.
- Availability: Participate in scheduled weekend projects and remain on call 24/7/365 for critical incident response.

- BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
- Experience: 10-15 years in IT, including 5+ years managing 24/7/365 enterprise environments.
- Experience in the finance world is a must along with experience in asset management.
- Microsoft Ecosystem: Expert-level administration of M365, Intune, Azure AD Hybrid, Conditional Access, and M365 compliance/security tools (DLP, SSO, Zero Trust).
- Infrastructure & Virtualization: Strong proficiency in VMware Essentials/Horizon, Active Directory/GPO, and SCCM for imaging and application deployment.
- Automation & Patching: Extensive PowerShell scripting for workflow orchestration and advanced experience in automated patch management and compliance reporting.
- Support & Networking: Proven Level 3 on-site and remote troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of fundamental network concepts.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Industry technical certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware
- Experience tracking and resolving tickets via ServiceNow
- Proficiency with SQL and shell scripting
- Proficiency with Windows 11
