Summary

Role : Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (SQL Server DBA)
Location: Little Rock, AR
Work Arrangement: Onsite – 5 days per week
Duration: 7 Months, with possible extension
Important: Candidates must be local to Little Rock, AR, and available for onsite interviews. Remote work is not available. Availability for 24/7 support as needed is required.
 
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. The role involves database administration, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, high availability, and Windows Server administration to support mission-critical systems.
 
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of hands-on SQL Server database administration experience with SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, or 2022.
  • Experience installing, upgrading, patching, and maintaining SQL Server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server security, auditing, encryption, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with database performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and advanced T-SQL optimization.
  • Experience supporting SQL Server high-availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups.
  • Experience managing large-scale or mission-critical database environments.
  • 3+ years of Windows Server administration experience.
  • Experience building and maintaining Windows Servers and AWS EC2 instances.
  • Experience with Windows Failover Clustering and clustered environments.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and administrative automation.
  • Strong understanding of server roles, features, and .NET Framework components.
  • Experience with SQL Server monitoring tools, SQL Server Agent jobs, Extended Events, and Dynamic Management Views.
  • Relevant technical certifications.
  • Availability to provide 24/7 production support as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with FAST GenTax / DS-VS architecture and application maintenance.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services, storage, backup, and recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with security standards and requirements, including PUB1075, FIPS, and PII.
  • Active Directory administration, including Group Policy, DNS, FQDN, and SPN management.
  • Firewall administration and maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting email, SMTP, and proxy servers.
  • Web services development or support experience.
  • Experience supporting government tax, revenue, or regulatory systems.
