Data Engineer
- Employment Type: 6-month W2 contract, no sponsorship, local candidates only (no relocation)
- Work Schedule: Hybrid (in-office Mon Wed, remote Thu Fri)
- Location: Orlando, FL (must currently be local)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows using tools such as Snowpipe, Informatica, Airflow, or Kafka
- Design and implement data models, manage databases, and develop data warehouses (PL/SQL, SQL Server 2016+, Snowflake)
- Build and optimize datasets using scripting languages (Python, Java/Scala) and cloud/on-premise environments (AWS)
- Work with large, complex, and disconnected datasets, performing extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Develop and consume APIs for system integration and data movement
- Conduct root cause analysis to address business questions and identify areas for process improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions
- Create and maintain Windows and web applications using Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, etc.)
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of related data engineering or IT experience
- 1+ year experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, Java/Scala, Python, AWS, and .NET technologies
- 2+ years in data modeling and database development (PL/SQL, SQL Server, Snowflake)
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
- Experience with data manipulation, processing, and analytics (including unstructured data)
- Preferred certifications: Snowflake and Python (not required)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong business analysis and data interpretation abilities

- Must have a strong understanding of business processes and industry landscape
