Overview
As a Process Engineer II, you will lead a design team or oversee engineering contractors during key phases of project development. Your expertise will ensure that process designs meet high standards, optimize operations, and align with safety and environmental guidelines. You'll have the chance to influence everything from basic process specifications to start-up support, contributing to meaningful projects in petroleum refining and chemical processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor junior engineers in creating process design specifications, including heat & material balances, flow plans, equipment design, and safety facilities
  • Oversee process optimization studies to identify savings and evaluate process alternatives
  • Provide technical oversight during front-end engineering and detailed design, ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements
  • Participate in Hazard & Operability Reviews for new and modified facilities
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities to ensure smooth transitions to operation
  • Assist in establishing organization structures and staffing processes to support project execution

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in petroleum refining or chemical process industries, including working with engineering contractors
  • Capital project development experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, for technical and business communication

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with process optimization, safety facilities, and process control & instrumentation
