SAP Basis Architect with Azure || Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect SAP landscapes on Microsoft Azure, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA and other SAP applications.
• Provide technical leadership for SAP Basis and Azure cloud architecture.
• Lead SAP migration, implementation, upgrade, and transformation projects on Azure.
• Design and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for SAP environments.
• Architect SAP HANA database deployments on Azure, including sizing, performance, backup, and recovery.
• Manage SAP system installations, upgrades, patches, kernel upgrades, system copies, refreshes, and migrations.
• Configure and manage SAP connectivity with Azure services, including networking, VPN/ExpressRoute, DNS, load balancing, and security components.
• Work with Azure infrastructure teams on VMs, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Ensure SAP systems comply with enterprise security, availability, performance, and compliance requirements.
• Analyze and resolve complex SAP Basis, HANA, OS, and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Define SAP technical standards, architecture patterns, operational procedures, and best practices.
• Perform SAP system performance analysis and capacity planning.
• Work on SAP Cloud Connector, interfaces, RFC, certificates, SSL, SSO, and integrations where required.
• Implement monitoring and alerting using SAP and Azure monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement IAM, RBAC, encryption, network security, and secure SAP architecture.
• Support technical assessments, solution design, effort estimation, and architecture documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to SAP Basis and cloud engineers.

Required Technical Skills

SAP Basis

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration and architecture.
• SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA administration.
• Strong SAP HANA administration knowledge.
• SAP installations, upgrades, migrations, system copies, refreshes, and patching.
• SAP kernel upgrades and support package implementation.
• SAP transport management and system landscape management.
• SAP performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• SAP Web Dispatcher and SAP Gateway.
• SAP Solution Manager / SAP Cloud ALM knowledge is preferred.
• SAP Fiori and Gateway administration.
• SAP Cloud Connector and connectivity management.
• SSL certificates, SSO, RFC, interfaces, and authentication mechanisms.

• Knowledge of HANA System Replication and clustering technologies.
• Experience with SAP workload migration to Azure.
• Understanding of Azure architecture principles for mission-critical SAP workloads.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• SAP Certified Technology Associate SAP System Administration
• SAP HANA Administration certification
• SAP on Azure certification is an advantage.
