Automation Engineer

Location: Clayton, North Carolina (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to provide support services for the deployment of automated processes and equipment. This role involves managing and troubleshooting the implementation of systems and interfaces, operating as a key automation resource on projects involving process control systems, and executing test plans. The position requires working closely with project teams to ensure design compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support, manage, and troubleshoot the implementation of systems and interfaces.
  • Operate as an automation resource on projects that involve process control systems.
  • Execute test plans (SAT/IV/OV) in coordination with startup schedules.
  • Work with local and global project teams to ensure the design of processes is compliant with standards.
  • Provide support for automated processes and equipment within Finished Products buildings.
  • Support various assembly and packaging lines, including multivendor equipment.
Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:
  • PLC Systems: Experience with Schneider, B&R, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, and Siemens.
  • SCADA and Data Systems: Proficiency with FactoryTalk, historians, data collections, SQL Server, and AVEVA PI.
  • Manufacturing and Vision Systems: Knowledge of MES (PASX), Serialization (Uhlmann Track and Trace), and Vision Systems (Cognex, Keyence, Vision Automation).
  • Networking: Understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security as it relates to industrial environments.
  • Industrial Automation: Expertise in automation technologies, including PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial robotics.
  • Control Systems: Understanding of control system design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Cybersecurity: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for OT systems, including threat detection and risk management.
  • Familiarity with vendors such as Pester, Bausch+Stroebel, Fargo, Dividella, Robomat, and Uhlmann.
