Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) / Database Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Cassandra. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database architecture, administration, development, performance tuning, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available database solutions supporting mission-critical enterprise applications across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise database solutions using Oracle, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Cassandra.

• Perform database architecture, data modeling, schema design, and database development for relational and NoSQL platforms.

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.

• Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, execution plan analysis, query tuning, and resource utilization.

• Implement high availability, replication, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions, including Oracle GoldenGate.

• Support database migrations, platform upgrades, modernization, and database consolidation initiatives.

• Implement database security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and data protection best practices.

• Troubleshoot complex database issues, production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and availability challenges.

• Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to establish database standards and efficient data access patterns.

• Automate database administration, monitoring, deployment, maintenance, and operational activities through scripting.

• Support databases deployed across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and database standards.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in database administration, engineering, design, and development.

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL, including installation, configuration, administration, SQL development, and performance tuning.

• Practical experience with Couchbase and Cassandra, including NoSQL data modeling, cluster management, replication, and performance optimization.

• Strong knowledge of relational and distributed database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.

• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate, database replication, high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database scripting.

• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex production database issues.

• Strong understanding of database security, access management, encryption, and data protection.

• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments and mission-critical applications.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting database modernization and large-scale migration initiatives.

• Experience with database automation, monitoring, and deployment tools.

• Exposure to cloud database services and hybrid infrastructure environments.

• Experience developing operational runbooks and database recovery procedures.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite per week in Sunrise, Florida.

• Candidates currently local to the area are preferred; qualified candidates willing to relocate will also be considered.

• 12+ month contract opportunity.
