Mainframe Developer

Avanciers are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to support enterprise-scale mainframe modernization initiatives. The role involves in-depth analysis of existing mainframe applications, strong DB2 expertise, and hands-on experience with batch processing, stored procedures, and production support in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mainframe applications, source code, and documentation to support modernization efforts

• Perform detailed analysis and enhancement of mainframe batch programs and stored procedures

• Work extensively with Mainframe Stored Procedures, which form a major component of the migration strategy

• Design, analyze, and optimize DB2 queries, including rewriting queries to support schema decoupling

• Use Control-M for batch scheduling and Changeman for version control and release management

• Provide production support, including issue analysis, debugging, and root cause resolution

• Manage and support file transfers using MFTS/NDM

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure stable and efficient system operations

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe Development

• Strong expertise in Mainframe Modernization initiatives

• Proficiency in DB2, including query analysis and performance optimization

• Experience with Mainframe Batch Processing and Stored Procedures

• Hands-on experience with Control-M and Changeman

• Solid background in Production Support and troubleshooting

• Experience with MFTS/NDM file transfer tools
