Summary

Junior Production Planner

Reports to: Master Scheduler

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated technical aptitude.

Position Summary

Baker Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who have an interest in manufacturing, production planning, and operations management. The Junior Production Planner will support scheduling and planning activities across our Foundry, Machine Shop, Weld Shop, and Assembly departments to help ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and on time.

The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and will work closely with experienced planners, supervisors, and production personnel to learn manufacturing processes and production planning best practices.

Essential Responsibilities

\tAssist with planning and scheduling production activities across multiple manufacturing departments.

\tMonitor production schedules and communicate changes to supervisors and operations personnel.

\tTrack work orders and production status to support on-time delivery goals.

\tHelp coordinate workflow between Foundry, Machine Shop, Weld Shop, and Assembly operations.

\tReview production priorities and identify potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks.

\tMaintain accurate planning and scheduling data within Baker's ERP, Epicor/Kinetic.

\tParticipate in daily production meetings and provide planning updates.

\tWork with engineering, purchasing, quality, and operations teams to support production requirements.

\tSpend time on the shop floor gathering information and developing an understanding of manufacturing processes.

\tAssist with inventory and capacity planning activities as needed.

\tSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to production flow and scheduling.

Qualifications

Required

\tHigh school diploma or equivalent.

\tStrong organizational and time management skills.

\tGood problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

\tReliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

\tPositive attitude and willingness to learn.

\tAbility to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

\tComfortable working in both an office environment and manufacturing shop floor settings.

\tBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

\tAssociate degree, technical training, or coursework related to manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, or business.

\tPrevious manufacturing or operations experience.

\tAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

\tFamiliarity with ERP, MRP, or production scheduling software.

\tExperience using Excel for data tracking and analysis.

\tUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
